Dr LN. Dongo, Director/CEO, RRIN Received An Award Excellence From The Grow Africa Youth Initiative
A delegation from the Grow Africa Youth Initiative domiciled in Abuja but with headquarters in Accra, Ghana, on Tuesday 4th of November, 2025 paid a courtesy call the Director/CEO, Dr. L.N. Dongo. The delegation comprised of two staff members, namely Mr. Temple Ozim – the Nigerian representative and Mr. Akufo Donald – the Secretary General of the Organisation.
The Grow Africa Youth Initiative with the motto ‘grow Africa, grow Nigeria’ was put in place with the sole purpose of organizing programmes targeted at youths enlightened on the negative impacts of drug abuse, Agriculture for all initiative. The organization target mainly youths, especially those in tertiary institutions with the aim of introducing them to farming; stay back in Africa campaign. This became imperative, as only Africans can develop Africa.
The President highlighted the main aim of the visit was to introduce the organisation to the Executive Director and seek partnership with RRIN in achieving her main aims and objectives. The Grow Africa Youth Initiative he said is an African Youth organization saddled with the task of building the youth of Africa in leadership and entrepreneurship with the purpose of providing Africa youths with intellects to take the mantle of leadership, in order to contribute to the Africa of our dreams, driven by its own citizens and representing a dynamic youth force in the international arena. To achieve this, the organization needs to find for itself, role models, outstanding institutions, stakeholders, individuals and leaders who have distinguished themselves in their fields of endeavors and appreciate them with commendations, while interacting with them so as to tap from their wealth of experience for continuity and replication of their good works in all member countries.
The organization identified Dr. L.N. Dongo as one of the outstanding leader and a shining example for youths in Africa. In recognizing her outstanding leadership qualities, she was decorated with the award of ‘Grow Africa Prize of Excellence’. The President described her as a detribalized Nigerian, a lover of youths/students, with a charismatic personality, high administrative acumen, passion for research and development, efficient service delivery, a team player and Public Servant with a selfless leadership ideology and zero tolerance for corruption.
In her response, Dr. L.N. Dongo expressed her appreciation for the visit and wondered how they knew about her, to which he replied that information about her pedigree was obtained from the Institute’s website.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of the ‘Grow Africa Prize of Excellence’ plaque to Dr. L.N. Dongo by Mr. Ozim Temple, after decorating her in the traditional Ghanaian attire.
